Probation period: Up to 6 months, with an initial review after 3 months.

Position Overview:We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Legal Assistant with a minimum of 2 years of experience in immigration law or a related field. You are an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual, with excellent writing skills, keen attention to detail, and strong organizational capabilities. You are able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant
  • Creating and updating client questionnaires
  • Respond to email enquiries and maintaining active and timely communications with clients
  • Prepare, proofread, and organize immigration documents and application packages
  • Maintain and update client files and internal databases
  • Organizing and maintaining client files within electronic filing system
  • Monitoring cases and applications and ensuring that all deadlines are met
  • Conduct legal research related to immigration matters as needed

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a Canadian immigration firm or in related legal/administrative role
  • Familiarity with immigration processes and documents is strongly preferred
  • Exceptional written and spoken English and French
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Completed post-secondary education at college or university level;
  • High level of computer and tech proficiency;
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion

Work Schedule:

  • Part-time: 15 hours per week to start, with the possibility of additional hours and eventual transition to full-time as business needs grow.

Compensation:

  • Hourly rate: $20–$22/hour, depending on experience and qualifications
  • Performance and salary review after the probation period, with potential for increase based on results
  • Performance-based bonus for client acquisition
  • Access to training and continuing professional development (CPD)
