Position:
Nakina Adventures is seeking a motivated and reliable kitchen assistant/dishwasher to support our kitchen team during the 2026 summer season. This role is essential to keeping kitchen operations running smoothly and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization while providing assistance to the head cook. Some level of kitchen experince, or experience in the hospitality/service industry, would be valuable but is not mandatory. Training on the job can be provided if necessary. This position would be terrific for a student on summer break between studies or anyone with relevant experience, with a keen interest, who is looking for a unique, wilderness summer work experience.
Responsibilities/Qualifications:
- Team player
- Washing dishes
- Basic cleaning and tidying of main lodge
- Offering beverages to guests
- Helping prep food with/for head cook
- Ability to follow basic recipes under the direction and supervision of head cook.
- Assisting in meal service 3 times a day for up to 16 people
- Serving and clearing tables
- Strong multi-tasking abilities
- Strong customer service skills and positive attitude
- Ability to follow instructions and follow the Chef’s instructions
- General organisation and inventory skills
- Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and methods
- Understanding the basics of health and safety regulations regarding food preparation and storage
- Basic understanding of how to use kitchen equipment
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- CRP training and up-to-date certificate
- Basic food safe certificate (would be helpful)
