Certified Engineering Technician

We are currently seeking a Field Professional to join our team and assist in on-site property inspections. This role is ideal for individuals with a keen eye for detail, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to work independently.
Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site property inspections for residential, commercial, and rural properties.
  • Collect and document property data, including measurements, materials, and structural components.
  • Take high-quality photographs to support appraisal reports.
  • Verify property details through interviews with owners, tenants, or agents.
  • Ensure all collected data is accurate, complete, and well-documented.
  • Follow industry and company standards for data collection and reporting.
  • Collaborate with appraisers and administrative staff to ensure smooth report completion.
  • Travel to various locations within the service area as required.

Qualifications
Required:

  • Certified Engineering Technician (CET) or Certified Engineering Technologist (C.Tech.) designation from a recognized provincial association (must be an active member).
  • Strong understanding of building materials, construction methods, and structural components.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify property characteristics accurately.
  • Ability to work independently in the field while managing multiple assignments.
  • Proficiency with mobile data collection tools, cameras, and GPS mapping.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for fieldwork.

Preferred:

  • Experience in real estate, property inspections, construction, or appraisals.
  • Familiarity with building codes, zoning regulations, and land use policies.
  • Prior experience using inspection software and digital reporting tools.
