CAP is currently seeking 4 Civil Technologists to join our Team in performing quality control field inspections, laboratory testing, and provide assistance to our Engineers on major earthwork projects. This is a full time position requiring 40 hours of work weekly.
Responsibilities
- Performing surveying layout, staking and quantity using GPS and robotic
- Assisting with field geotechnical assessment and sampling
- Performing field and laboratory testing on soil, aggregate, asphalt, and concrete materials, including documentation and reporting
- Performing field nuclear density compaction testing
- Performing construction inspection
- Performing construction QA/QC
- Recording, reporting and maintaining test result records
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and able to carry out assignments with minimal supervision
- Prepare construction specifications, costs and material estimates
- Prepare engineering designs and drawings
- Read and interpret design drawings
Qualifications
- 1 to 2 years of experience with field inspection and quality control
- Recognized Diploma in Civil Technology or University Degree in Engineering or related discipline from an accredited institution.
- Valid driver's License with abstract
- Valid CCIL concrete, asphalt or aggregate testing certification would be considered an asset
- Exposure to geotechnical soils testing is preferred
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- High attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
- Ability to travel and work remotely as needed.

- Good judgement and analysis capacity
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills
- Must be willing to work all shifts, including weekends and must be willing to travel out of town for up to 3 weeks at a time
