About the Opportunity:
The REaL program is seeking an engaging Guest Speaker with expertise in climate-related topics to deliver a 45-minute in-person talk to high school students (50%+ equity-seeking youth) on the 4th day of a 5-day summer camp. Your session should offer real-world insights into climate risks and opportunities, highlight emerging challenges, and inspire students to think critically about the future.
What We Are Looking For:
- Strong educational background (PhD or PostDoc) OR extensive industry experience in climate science, environmental policy, sustainability, or a related field.
- Ability to connect with youth and communicate complex topics clearly.
- Willingness to provide career insights and inspire the next generation.
About REaL:
The REaL (Risk Education and Literacy) program, offered by the RISC Foundation, supported by NSERC’s PromoScience Grant, introduces high school students to real-world risks in areas like climate change, cybersecurity, and mental health. Through immersive camps hosted at Canadian universities, REaL equips youth with risk literacy skills to navigate an evolving world.
