Overview:
We are seeking a semi-skilled labourer to join our team. This role will involve mixed responsibilities ranging from roofing to general construction. The ideal candidate will have a background in construction. The job requires physically intensive work in outdoor settings in various locations throughout the year. The candidates’ responsibilities will range from working at heights to helping complete carpentry projects to jobsite logistics. This role requires adaptability, jobsite awareness, physical stamina, and a commitment to safety. Education:
- Completion of secondary school
Experience and language:
- Proficient in English, understands construction and work safety specific language
- Minimum 6 month of work experience
- Coachable, willing to learn, able to follow company and safety rules and requirements, team player, reliable, honest, hard working, respectful
- Whitehorse and all Yukon communities

Terms of employment and pay rate:
- Full time, minimum 35 hours per week
- $28.00 per hour
- Occasional overtime
Work tasks:
- Assist trades persons such as carpenters, and roofers in construction activities.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Help prepare and coordinate jobsites and relocating tools and equipment.
- Perform heavy lifting as needed to transport materials and equipment on-site.
- Install roofing materials such as shingles, tiles, and metal sheets according to specifications.
- Assist in framing houses, erecting walls and building roofs.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times.
- Level earth to fine grade specifications using rake and shovel.
- Follow equipment maintenance schedules.
- Input jobsite data into computerized databases, spreadsheets or other templates using various computer software like Excel and QuickBooks
- Perform other various activities at construction sites, as directed.
