Position Title: Cultural Recovery Coach
Location - Whitehorse, YT (Primary) – with travel to the communities as required
Part-time – 20 hours weekly, Contractor Term Position with possibility of extension &
Full-Time Hours
Salary – Starting at $35.00/hr
Security Clearance with vulnerable sector check is required
Travel to communities is required
Drivers License & Vehicle an Asset
General Summary
Reporting to the Visionary of TKA and is part of a strong team of professionals
dedicated to offering excellent services to participants. This position is responsible for
the development, coordination, and delivery of programming for TKA. This position
provides support to all participants in recovery after-care throughout the Yukon.
Duties and Responsibilities
1) Co-facilitator of programming at TKA for all one-on-one, group and drop-in
services, community workshops and one-the-land programs including the
integration of traditional practices in all sessions.
2) Works with the TKA team to coordinate scheduling and plan program curriculum,
for Wellbriety, Family Reconciliation Day, group programs, drop-in services, and
other programs as the organization grows
3) Research topics and develops agendas for group programs offered at TKA and
the community.
4) Works collaboratively with Yukon First Nations to support community information
sharing and sustainable community programs.
5) Work with our existing government partners to promote information sharing for
programing.
6) Assists with the overall coordination of programs at the TKA Centre including,
supporting the program, providing information to the public on the program and
promoting access to the program.
7) Provides support to the TKA team to ensure the team is equipped to perform
duties through teamwork and leadership.
8) Maintains an effective electronic and paper filing system for all organizational
activities and reports.
9) On the job training to enhance skill level.

This position will be responsible in providing professional and confidential services to
participants and building access and learnings in traditional practice.
Employment requirements:
1) Security Clearance with Vulnerable Sector check.
2) Ability to travel to the communities.
3) Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends, and
4) Ability to share and teach cultural activities.
