Northern Vision Development operates the first private senior residence in Yukon. Normandy Living is dedicated to providing the highest level of hospitality and support to seniors in the North. At Normandy Living we strive to provide a community where seniors can live independently, while receiving services that allow them to focus on the things that are most important to them.
We are currently seeking a server/dietary aide to join our team at Normandy Living that will be responsible for the well-being of our residents through creating a friendly, inviting dining experience for our residents.
Responsibilities
- Greeting residents
- Take meal orders
- Answering questions about menu items
- Serve meals and beverages, including carrying heavy trays
- Kindly work with residents requiring alternate menu option due to allergies or medical reasons
- Assist with dishes and food preparation
- Ensure the dining room and kitchen are safe and sanitary
- Serve during special events and catered functions as needed
- Setting and re-setting tables
- Identify and report any health, safety, and maintenance concerns
- Be able to maintain patient and tactful composure when dealing with residents, family members, staff members and visitors
- Other duties as assigned to support operational requirements
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of one (1) year food services experience in a residential care setting or hotel
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with peers, residents, visitors and operational partners
- Superior organizational skills with the ability to handle fast paced environment
- Comprehensive food services knowledge, including focus on quality, production, sanitation and presentation
- Superior oral and written communication skills, fluent in English
- Demonstrate the ability to prioritize and problem solve
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Able to work flexible shifts
