Summary
Northern Vision Development (NVD) is hiring a director to lead our community-based hospitality portfolio across Mayo, Carmacks, and Dawson City. This role is responsible for performance across our hotels, restaurants, and grocery operations, ensuring each operation consistently meets NVD’s values, targets, and long-term direction.
A core part of the role is community and partner engagement. NVD operates in partnership with Na-Cho Nyäk Dun Development Corp. (Mayo), Carmacks Development Corp., and Trʼondëk Hwëchʼin Trust (Dawson City). You will represent NVD in these communities, build durable working relationships with First Nation partners and local stakeholders, and strengthen NVD’s visibility and collaboration with tourism and industry partners.

- Strong external presence: NVD is visible and credible with tourism, and industry partners, strengthening the regional tourism ecosystem and elevating community profiles.
- Aligned execution: Operations are supported by corporate functions (HR, Finance, Marketing, Development) through shared standards, coordinated planning, and clear priorities.
What You Bring To The Role
- Leadership experience overseeing multi-site operations and leading and developing teams.
- Success managing budgets and performance, including interpreting financial results and driving action.
- Strong relationship-building and diplomacy with partners, boards, community stakeholders, and leadership teams.
- Cultural awareness and respect in the context of First Nation partnerships and operating in Traditional Territories.
- Ability to set direction, ask the right questions, and hold teams accountable - without needing to be the hands-on expert in every operational detail.
- Clear communication skills (written and verbal) to engage partners, local teams, and senior leadership.

Job Requirements:
- Regular travel within communities and Whitehorse.
- Ability to occasionally attend after hours meetings.
Conditions of Employment: class 5 driver’s license
