Position Summary
The Youth Kitchen Helper/Dishwasher supports the smooth running of our kitchen by ensuring cleanliness, organization, and basic food preparation assistance. This is an entry-level youth position that provides valuable workplace skills in teamwork, responsibility, and safe kitchen practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Wash dishes, utensils, pots, and pans using commercial dishwashing equipment.
- Keep kitchen surfaces, sinks, and floors clean and sanitary.
- Assist with basic food preparation (washing produce, portioning, setting up ingredients).
- Collect and take out garbage, recycling, and compost as directed.
- Restock supplies (cutlery, dishes, napkins, cleaning products).
- Follow safe food handling and workplace safety guidelines.
- Support kitchen staff as needed to ensure smooth meal service.
Skills and Qualifications
- No previous experience required—training will be provided.
- Willingness to learn and take direction.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Comfortable standing for periods of time and lifting up to 25 lbs.
