Dog Musher

Position: Dog Musher – Winter Program
Term: November – March 15

Wild Adventure Yukon is seeking a skilled and experienced Dog Musher with your own dog team to lead our winter dog sledding operations. The successful candidate will provide safe, memorable, and authentic experiences for guests with a priority on the well-being of the dogs while offering exceptional guest service.

Dry cabin accommodation and an area for your dogs are available on site.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
● Oversee the daily care, feeding, and housing of your dogs.
● Conduct regular health and wellness checks on all dogs.
● Maintain trails and equipment in safe and guest-ready condition.
● Prepare for daily operations, including guest numbers, required dog teams, and
ride scheduling.
● Oversee and manage support staff
● Operate and manage both daytime and nighttime rides.
● Interact with guests, ensuring a welcoming and educational experience.
● Maintain clean and organized work and guest areas.
● Support cost control and operational efficiency in the dog yard.

Qualifications:
● Proven experience in dog mushing and working with sled dogs.
● Strong knowledge of dog care, health, and training practices.
● Ability to manage long days outdoors in winter conditions.
● Must have enough dogs to run at least:
○ 10 x 30-minute rides during the day and
○ 10 x 15-minute rides at night (10 pm – 1 am).
● Strong communication and guest interaction skills.
● Reliable, safety-focused, and team-oriented.
