Summary
Northern Vision Development (NVD) is hiring a friendly, service-driven Food & Beverage Server for Hotel Carmacks - supporting service in the Gold Panner Restaurant and Gold Dust Lounge.
In this role, you’re the face of the guest experience on the floor—welcoming guests, taking orders, delivering food and beverages efficiently, and keeping service organized and upbeat during busy periods. You’ll work closely with kitchen and bar teams to create a smooth, consistent experience for locals and travellers alike.
What Does Your Success Look Like?
- Guests feel genuinely welcomed and looked after - resulting in strong feedback, repeat visits, and positive word-of-mouth.
- Orders are taken accurately and delivered efficiently, with clear communication to the kitchen and bar (fewer remakes, fewer delays).
- You anticipate needs (refills, condiments, pacing, bill timing) so service feels smooth and professional without being stiff.
- Payments, bills, and cash-outs are accurate, with clean close-outs and clear handovers between shifts.
- You handle issues calmly (delays, complaints, wrong items, intoxication concerns) and protect the guest experience through smart service recovery.
- You maintain a clean, ready dining area (tables, sections, side work) so the team stays ahead of the rush.
What You Bring To The Role
- Customer service experience in restaurants, bars, hotels, or other guest-facing roles (6 months serving experience preferred).
- Guest service mindset — warm, attentive, and confident with a wide range of people.
- Pace + composure — able to manage multiple tables and priorities during peak periods.
- Accuracy & detail — strong order-taking, food/drink knowledge, and bill/payment handling.
- Communication — clear, respectful communication with guests and strong teamwork with kitchen/bar.
- Reliability — consistent attendance, punctuality, and solid shift handover habits.
- Responsible service — able to follow safe alcohol service expectations and obtain any required certification if needed.
