Foreman (Journeyman Plumber Red Seal)

The Plumbineers Plumbing and Heating Yukon Inc. is looking for a Foreman to join our Whitehorse team!

Result Statement:
Shine as a Foreman at The Plumbineers, leading our Techs and supporting the Office Manager like a pro. While this role does include some office responsibilities, we want you mainly out in the field, keeping projects on track and hands-on with the team.

Responsibilities:
Field Work:

  • Leading large projects
  • Working alongside Techs on projects
  • Supervising, training, and development of Techs, including conflict management if needed
  • Quality control on worksites and tracking job progress
  • Walk throughs for estimates and quotes
  • Fleet and vehicle inventory maintenance
  • Tooling maintenance
  • Review and update Techs and Office with any relevant updates to codes/code books
  • Organization and responsibility of the Emergency Phone

Office:

  • Creation and Maintenance of Safety Policies and Procedures
  • Support the permitting process for plumbing and heating projects by preparing and providing technical drawings
  • Assist with Plumbers scheduling app
  • Assist with project tracking and coordination
  • Communicate, provide, exchange, and verify information to necessary staff to allow them to complete daily tasks
  • Assisting Office Manager with estimates and giving final approval
  • Supporting Office with client communications when necessary to set up jobs
  • Support the Office Manager with invoice review as needed
  • Assisting Office Manager with Bids and Tenders submissions
  • Assisting Office Manager with the onboarding of Techs
  • Review and approve employee timesheets ensuring accuracy before submission
  • Submitting all receipts, coded, in a timely manner
  • Maintain email inbox
  • Proper use of business systems including but not limited to: Trackers, SOPs, and Forms
  • Ensure a clean and clutter free workspace and common areas

Requirements:

  • Red Seal Plumber
  • Hold a current Class 5 Drivers License
  • Ability to work on out-of-town projects as needed
  • 2+ years work experience in management position in Trades
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to lift objects 20+ lbs
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada/Have a valid work permit for 2+ years

A candidate with experience in propane, oil, and other specialized fields would be considered an asset.

Hours and Compensation:
The Plumbineers offer competitive wages based on knowledge and experience. We provide all permanent full time employees with Extended Health Benefits, as well as an annual bonus, and additional wages for after hours phone.
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm with a 30-minute lunch. There is flexibility to work until 4:30 pm with a 1-hour lunch if preferred. After 4:30pm: handling the emergency phone when required (cell service required)
