Fuel, Lube & Service Person – Heavy Equipment & Construction

Location: Varies, throughout Yukon

About the Role:
Cobalt Construction Inc., a leader in heavy civil construction, is seeking a Service Person to support our fleet of heavy equipment and construction vehicles. This hands-on role is critical to keeping our equipment running efficiently and safely in the field.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Fuel, lube, and service heavy equipment, trucks, and small engines onsite
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance, including fluid checks and top-ups
  • Grease equipment and inspect for visible wear or leaks
  • Maintain records of service and fueling activities
  • Communicate with mechanics and supervisors regarding equipment status and any issues
  • Operate service trucks and ensure proper storage and handling of fuels and lubricants
  • Assist with equipment mobilization and general yard/field tasks as needed
  • Follow all safety procedures and environmental regulations

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a similar role or mechanical servicing of heavy equipment preferred
  • Class 5 driver’s license (Class 3 or higher with air brakes considered an asset)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently in varying weather and field conditions
  • Basic knowledge of hydraulic, fuel, and lube systems an asset
  • Physically fit and capable of lifting 50+ lbs and working outdoors for extended periods
  • Safety certifications (e.g., WHMIS, TDG, First Aid) are an asset but can be provided
