Stewart, Weir, MacDonald Ltd. is a Northern real estate appraisal and consulting firm which has been in operation in the Northwest Territories and Nunavut since 1984 and Yukon since 2018. It is a “northern” firm, registered with the Government of the Northwest Territories, Government of Nunavut and Government of Yukon with a specialized knowledge of northern properties. Over the years, it has evolved from a small firm providing residential (mortgage) appraisals to local lending institutions, into a multi-faceted service provider of various valuation functions, including mortgage appraisals on residential (single and multi-family), commercial and industrial properties, as well as institutional, or government buildings. The firm has also been involved in the insurance valuations (replacement cost), assessment for property taxes, and real estate consulting, including research projects, surveys and land pricing policies in remote regions.
