Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Labourer / Heavy Equipment Operator with valid Occupational First Aid Level 3 and Mine Rescue certification. This position plays a critical role in daily operations, supporting production, maintaining site infrastructure, and contributing to emergency response readiness.
Key Responsibilities

  • Operate equipment, including but not limited to loaders, graders, haul trucks, and other heavy equipment.
  • Perform general labour and maintenance duties such as road maintenance, snow removal, and material handling.
  • Maintain equipment through regular inspections, minor repairs, and cleaning.
  • Act as part of the Mine Rescue team, responding to site emergencies, conducting drills, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
  • Provide Occupational First Aid Level 3 medical support to workers as required.
  • Follow all site-specific safety procedures, hazard controls, and environmental regulations.
  • Assist other departments with operational support as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Valid OFA Level 3 certification (or equivalent acceptable to WorkSafeBC/Yukon Workers’ Compensation standards).
  • Valid Mine Rescue certification.
  • Demonstrated experience operating heavy equipment in a mining or industrial setting.
  • Ability to work safely and effectively in remote and potentially harsh environments.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence (Class 3 or higher considered an asset).
  • Physically fit and able to perform all duties in varying weather conditions.

Assets:

  • Previous surface or underground mine experience.
  • Additional trade, mechanical, or safety-related training.
  • WHMIS, TDG, and other safety certifications.

Work Conditions

  • Rotation Schedule: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off
  • Accommodations & Meals: Provided at remote camp.
  • Transportation to/from site provided.
  • PPE provided (specialized gear supplied for rescue/medical duties).
