About the Position:
Engineers Yukon is seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to serve as our next Executive Director and Registrar. This pivotal role is responsible for steering the organization through its regulatory mandate while building a progressive, responsive, and innovative professional association that meets the evolving needs of our members and the public.
Working closely with the President and Council, you will oversee a small but mighty team, manage an operational budget, and play a hands-on role in everything from licensing and compliance to governance, communications, and stakeholder engagement. Your leadership will shape organizational culture, guide policy modernization, and strengthen relationships with regulators, government, industry partners, and the public.

What You’ll Do – At a Glance:

- Lead the execution of Engineers Yukon’s strategic plan, aligning with legislative mandates and regulatory best practices.
- Modernize operations and regulatory processes to reflect national and international standards.
- Support effective governance by collaborating with the President and Council and providing timely reporting.
- Oversee core functions including licensing, communications, financial management, and day-to-day operations.
- Ensure transparent, fair, consistent and defensible regulatory practices.
- Represent Engineers Yukon with government, industry, academia, and national organizations.
- Mitigate legal, financial, reputational, and regulatory risks.
- Inspire, lead and support a high-performing team, fostering a culture of integrity, professionalism and accountability.
- Fulfill statutory responsibilities as Registrar under Yukon’s Engineering Profession Act, including licensing, renewals, and professional development oversight.
- Assist with complaint handling and disciplinary processes related to engineering practice.
What You Bring:
- Exceptional verbal, written, and cross-cultural communication skills that support clear and effective engagement.
- Experience in a regulatory environment or a solid understanding of administrative law and regulatory compliance.
- Proven ability to lead organizational strategy and high-performing teams.
- Demonstrated success in overseeing and executing day-to-day operational functions.
- Strong background in financial oversight and operational management.
- Experience building and maintaining relationships with a diverse range of external stakeholders.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) is considered an asset but not required.
