Kluane Drilling/Loucheux is seeking an accounting technician with experience in the industry to assist with all aspects of day-to-day accounting and control, client invoicing, banking and payroll administration.
Knowledge ad skills required:
- Knowledge in Accounting/Bookkeeping practices and procedures, along with basic knowledge of accounting theory
- Good knowledge of computerized accounting systems.
- Good knowledge of computer programs (Microsoft Suites).
- Good knowledge of various filing systems.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize workload.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to work in a cross–cultural environment.
- Ability to directions from more than one source.
Completion of Secondary Education courses in accounting, bookkeeping, and payroll. (minimum of 1 year).
An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be considered.
Duties include:
- Keep financial records and establish, maintain, and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems
- Post journal entries and reconcile accounts, prepare trial balance of books, maintain general ledgers, and prepare financial statements
- Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll and for utility, tax and other bills
- Complete and submit tax remittance forms, workers' compensation forms, pension contribution forms and other government documents
- Prepare other statistical, financial, and accounting reports.
40 hours per week, pay rate at $30,00 per hour.
The position will be located in Whitehorse, Yukon.
