Position Summary
We are looking for a skilled Controls Technician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with building automation systems (BAS), HVAC controls, and electrical troubleshooting. You’ll be responsible for installation, programming, commissioning, and servicing of automation systems.
Responsibilities
- Install, wire, and commission building automation and HVAC control systems
- Troubleshoot and repair system components including sensors, controllers, and actuators
- Program and configure control systems (e.g., Honeywell, Siemens, or Niagara-based systems)
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration of control systems
- Collaborate with engineers, electricians, and project managers on system design and execution
- Prepare accurate documentation, reports, and as-built drawings
- Provide technical support and system training to clients
Qualifications
- Electrical or instrumentation background (Journeyperson or equivalent experience)
- Experience with HVAC control systems and/or building automation systems
- Knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, or similar communication protocols
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings
- Valid driver’s license
Assets
- Experience with Niagara, Honeywell, or Siemens systems
- Knowledge of networking and IT fundamentals
- Previous commissioning or service experience in commercial/industrial facilities
