Sales Associate (NOC 64100)

This role is responsible for assisting customers with product and service selection and purchase, creating service requests, providing basic product guidance, and supporting overall retail operations. The position involves building and maintaining strong customer relationships and ensuring a high-quality shopping experience.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Greet customers professionally and warmly, and engage in conversations to identify their sales or service needs.
  • Provide accurate information about Apple products and services, including features, pricing, and available options.
  • Advise customers on selecting suitable products and services based on their needs and preferences.
  • Demonstrate products to customers, explaining features and benefits to support purchasing decisions.
  • Initiate service requests by collecting customer and device information and verifying warranty or service eligibility according to store procedures.
  • Explain available warranties, trade-in programs, and service options to customers.
  • Process sales, rentals, and service transactions using point-of-sale (POS) systems and accept payments.
  • Ensure required documentation, signatures, and deposits are completed in accordance with store policies.
  • Follow store procedures to confirm items are properly invoiced, and payments or credits are applied.
  • Provide basic assistance to customers with initial device setup or usage guidance and direct customers to appropriate support resources when needed.
  • Identify customer concerns and refer technical or complex issues to qualified technicians or schedule service appointments as required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked sales area, including product displays and demonstration units.
  • Assist with inventory tracking, record sales transactions, and notify supervisors of stock replenishment needs.
  • Follow up with customers regarding orders, backorders, and shipments to support timely delivery.
  • Promote a positive and professional store environment that reflects company and brand standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to support store operations and contribute to achieving sales objectives.

Employment requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in retail sales, customer service, or technology sales preferred.
  • Experience with electronic devices, software, or technical products is an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills; familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to provide a high-quality customer experience.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment, handle multiple tasks, and meet sales targets.
