The YFNED Nutrition team is seeking an energetic, creative, and community-minded individual to support the National School Food Program pilot initiative occurring in Faro, Yukon. This position plays a key role in promoting student wellness by preparing and delivering nutritious, high-quality meals and snacks for students and youth for the remainder the school year, with the possibly of employment continuity for the 2026/27 school year.
The key duties include but are not limited to: menu planning, grocery ordering (shopping), meal preparation, cooking, maintaining a safe and sanitary kitchen. This position requires the ability to manage one’s own schedule, report to work daily (M-F) and work closely with school-based staff and administration to ensure meals are delivered on time. Accommodation of student allergy or dietary requirements is required.
Position requirements include:
• Past experience cooking, ideally in an institutional setting.
• Food Safe Level 1.
• Pre-employment acceptable RCMP Security Clearance and Vulnerable Sector Clearance.
• Ability to work early mornings and to travel to and from the worksite daily are required.
