We are looking for a new Operations Manager to join our team at Hinterland Flour Mill.
Job Summary:
The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily administration and operations of Hinterland Flour Mill and for planning, executing, and overseeing projects within the company ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
This role involves coordinating office activities; managing project and clerical tasks; supporting HR, sales & marketing; ensuring smooth communication with suppliers, customers, vendors and other stakeholders; as well as supporting plant operations, ensuring production efficiency, quality standards, regulatory compliance, and safety protocols are consistently met.
The Operations Manager plays a key role in maintaining an organized, efficient, and productive office environment. This role requires the ability to self direct; exceptional time and resource management; and the leadership and logistical skills needed to meet project milestones, develop improvement initiatives to optimize processes and drive performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in: Project Management, Business Administration, Agrifood, Food Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of management or administrative experience, ideally in manufacturing, food processing, project management.
- Understanding of food facility health & safety standards and regulations (e.g., HACCP, GMP, FDA, SFFC).
- Experience with budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Proficiency in project management tools.
- Proficiency or working knowledge of various technology and software tools and systems (PLM, CRM, ERP/MRP/Inventory Management, Ecommerce, Odoo, Microsoft Office, Etc.)
- Experience with HR practices, payroll, and accounting processes is a plus.
- Knowledge of products the company sells and the agrifood industry overall.
- People oriented and experienced in rapport building.
