Project Coordinator & Estimator

Mobile Maintenance is seeking a versatile and detail-oriented Project Coordinator / Estimator to join our front-office team. This role bridges technical drawing, project estimating, and daily production planning—making it ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys wearing multiple hats.

Wage is negotiable depending on experience and qualifications. Preference given to local hires.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review structural steel takeoffs and estimates from design drawings
  • Nest plate parts for cutting using ProNest software, optimizing material use and production time
  • Coordinate project timelines, deliveries, and fabrication schedules
  • Create and manage work orders using our internal Microsoft Access-based system
  • Produce or edit AutoCAD drawings as needed for fabrication or client review
  • Track project status, material requirements, and change orders
  • Collaborate with clients, engineers, shop personnel, and suppliers
  • Provide administrative support and assist with general office operations
  • Ensure compliance with internal safety and documentation protocols

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in the structural steel or construction industry
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and ProNest (plate nesting and optimization)
  • Solid understanding of fabrication processes and steel components (W-shapes, HSS, plate, etc.)
  • Strong estimating skills and ability to interpret architectural/structural drawings
  • Experience with Microsoft Access or similar project tracking tools
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
