Growing riding lesson program is looking for an additional instructor from May to September 2025. We offer lessons, leasing, boarding, pony camps, and community events. Our horses and riders enjoy both the English and Western disciplines in a fun and inclusive atmosphere.
Pay rate based on candidate certification and previous horse/instructor experience. For instance, first aid certification, CHA certification, EC rider levels, NCCP certified.
Duties:

  • Instruct both private and group lessons to riders of all ages and skill levels, from beginner to intermediate
  • Use an electronic booking system to assign horses based on suitability and review schedule
  • Teach proper riding techniques based on customized colour level riding system
  • Evaluate riders' progress and provide constructive feedback for improvement
  • Ensure the safety of riders and well-being of horses during lessons and training sessions
  • Ride barn horses to teach students how each individual horse aids and preferences
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area

Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in equestrian sports, including riding, horsemanship or instruction preferably in multiple disciplines
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively instruct and motivate riders
  • Ability to educate riders on proper horsemanship practices and horse care
  • Strong organizational skills to plan lessons and manage schedule
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude when working with riders of different ethnic backgrounds, ages, and skill levels
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Problem solving and adjust based on horse and rider evolving needs
  • Reliable transportation
  • Work evenings and weekends
