Shop Foreman – Manufacturing and Assembly

Position Summary:
The Commercial Operations Shop Foreman is responsible for overseeing daily operations in our commercial operations fabrication shop, ensuring production runs efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. This role includes supervising shop employees, coordinating workflow, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality protocols. The Shop Foreman will also collaborate with management, project managers, and production teams to meet project deadlines and optimize shop performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate shop employees, ensuring efficient workflow and productivity.
- Oversee fabrication processes, including cutting, welding, and assembling aluminum products.
- Oversee shipping/receiving of products to and from facility
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment, enforcing safety policies and compliance with standards.
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure products meet specifications and customer requirements.
- Schedule and assign tasks to employees while monitoring performance and providing training as needed.
- Troubleshoot equipment and production issues, coordinating maintenance and repairs as required.
- Manage inventory of raw materials, tools, and supplies, ensuring availability for production needs.
- Communicate with management regarding production goals, challenges, and process improvements.
- Ensure adherence to project timelines and budgets while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance shop efficiency and reduce waste.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in aluminum fabrication, welding, and metalworking.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Strong knowledge of aluminum properties, fabrication techniques, and reading blueprints/drawings. AUTO CAD experience would be an asset.
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to train and mentor employees while fostering a positive and productive work culture.
- Familiarity with workplace safety standards and best practices.
- Proficiency with fabrication tools, machinery, and equipment.
- Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with management and employees.
