Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Foreman/Crew Lead for Construction to join our team. As a Site Foreman/ Crew Lead, under the supervision of the Project Manager, you will be responsible for supervising a team of construction workers and ensuring that they complete projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will also be responsible for maintaining a safe and efficient work environment and ensuring that all workers comply with safety regulations and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise a team of construction workers, assigning tasks and monitoring progress to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Supervise, Coordinate, and direct Subcontractors toward the project goals. Report the work progress on builder-trend.
- Ensure that work is performed in a safe and efficient manner and that all workers comply with safety regulations and procedures. Participate in safety meetings and ensure that safety protocols are being always followed.
- Coordinate all the building inspections; Material take-offs; Building material inventory.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to develop project plans and schedules.
- Monitor project progress, adjust schedules and plans with the Manager as needed to ensure that deadlines are met, and work is completed to specifications.
- Train new employees and provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to existing team members.
- Perform quality inspections of work completed by team members and ensure that it meets quality standards.
- Ability to travel to work within the Yukon Communities.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma/ diploma in a skilled trade (electrician, carpenter etc.) or GED, a degree or certification in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in the construction industry, with experience in commercial construction.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
- Knowledge of construction techniques, tools, and equipment, as well as safety regulations and procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
- In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and OSH guidelines
