Reporting to the Manager, Material Management, this position is responsible for carrying out supply chain management functions including but not limited to the shipping and receiving of various medical supplies and equipment, participating in ongoing inventory management and control functions, operating and maintaining warehouse equipment, moving various goods and supplies throughout the hospital, and performing other related duties, as required.
Knowledge, skills and abilities required:
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving methods and procedures;
- Knowledge of inventory control principles and practices;
- Knowledge of WHMIS and transportation of dangerous goods;
- Knowledge of safe warehouse practices and procedures;
- Understanding of the English language;
- Strong organizational skills;
- Basic computer data entering skills;
- Ability to operate and maintain warehouse equipment;
- Ability to lift reasonably heavy weights for extended periods; and
- Cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity.
The successful applicant will have successful completion of Grade 12 or G.E.D; six (6) months experience in warehousing, receiving and shipping; Transportation of Dangerous Goods certification (can be obtained within 3 months of hire); and a valid Yukon class 5 driver’s license. An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience may be considered.
